Dr Maureen Young, at Historic Scotland, specialises in built environment research and her main fields of interest lie in the investigation and treatment of factors involved in the deterioration of building sandstones and granites. Her work has included a range of built environment research projects including stone cleaning, biocide and conservation treatments, building stone decay and damp problems.
